Ex-Governor Elechi Urges Umahi to Focus on Road Development, Citizens’ Welfare

Date:

Former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi, has called on the current Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, to direct his energy towards improving Nigeria’s road infrastructure and enhancing the well-being of the people.

Elechi made this statement during a civic reception held by the Okposi Okwu community in Ohaozara Local Government Area, Ebonyi State. The event was organized to celebrate Senator Umahi’s service and accomplishments during his time as governor.

While acknowledging Umahi’s contributions, Elechi emphasized that real leadership lies in service delivery, not political praise. He cautioned against getting carried away by accolades, stressing the need for visible impact, especially in road construction and other development sectors.

Drawing from his experience in public office, Elechi also warned against blind trust in politics, noting that many well-meaning leaders have faced betrayal from close allies.

The event wrapped up with a call for unity among Ebonyi citizens and a renewed focus on collaborative efforts for long-term development in the state.
