In a strong move to promote peace and accelerate community development in Ebonyi State, the lawmaker representing Ikwo and Ezza South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah, OON, has extended his support to the people of Akuhufu Inyimegu in Ikwo Local Government Area.
The community recently witnessed the tragic killing of seven residents in an attack allegedly linked to individuals from the neighboring Ekpaomaka community. In response to the heartbreaking event, Hon. Ogah paid a condolence visit to Akuhufu Inyimegu, offering both moral and material support.
To cushion the effects of the tragedy and foster hope for the future, he donated ₦10 million to begin the construction of a secondary school in the area. He also awarded a scholarship to a child of one of the victims — a second-year student of Ebonyi State University — as a gesture of compassion and a step towards rebuilding lives.
While addressing the community, Hon. Ogah reassured residents that the government is actively pursuing justice for the victims. He emphasized that those behind the violent act would face the full weight of the law, adding that steps are being taken to ensure such incidents do not reoccur.
He also encouraged the people of Ikwo to continue supporting the peace-driven agenda of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru by remaining law-abiding and committed to the growth of the state.
“The pain of this loss is heavy, but we must transform our grief into strength. By working together and investing in peace and development, we can create a brighter future for our children,” Hon. Ogah stated.
This intervention underscores the importance of proactive leadership in times of crisis, as Ebonyi State continues to champion peace, justice, and progress across its communities.
