Ebonyi Students Rally in Support of Governor Nwifuru’s Leadership

Thousands of students under the National Association of Ebonyi State Students (NAESS) Worldwide gathered for a massive solidarity march in Abakaliki to express unwavering support for Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration.

The event, which took place on March 29, 2025, commenced at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium and concluded at the New Government House, Ochudo Centenary City. Participants included students from all 13 local government areas of Ebonyi State, as well as those studying outside the state, showcasing a strong display of unity and appreciation for the governor’s educational policies.

Addressing the crowd, NAESS National President, Comrade Collins Ogbonna, praised Governor Nwifuru for his substantial investment in education, particularly the award of over 1,000 local and international scholarships to Ebonyi students.

“We deeply appreciate His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his dedication to advancing education in Ebonyi State. Beyond scholarships, his administration has significantly improved school infrastructure, renovated learning facilities, and enhanced access to quality education,” Ogbonna stated.

The student body further expressed its support for Governor Nwifuru’s re-election, emphasizing that his leadership has positively impacted youth development, infrastructure, and academic excellence in the state.

Dr. Olisaemeka Alfred Nwuruku, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee for the 2025 NAESS Career Week and former Coordinator of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in the Southeast and South-South regions, described the march as a token of gratitude. He reiterated that students remain committed to supporting initiatives that foster educational growth.

The large turnout and enthusiastic participation in the solidarity march underscore the widespread recognition of Governor Nwifuru’s developmental strides. With continued student support, the administration is poised to drive further progress in education, youth empowerment, and overall state development.

This demonstration of solidarity highlights the governor’s strong rapport with the youth and the transformative impact of his policies in Ebonyi State’s education sector.
