Abakaliki Water Scarcity: Relief in Sight as Gov. Nwifuru Assesses Projects

Date:

The persistent water shortage in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, may soon be resolved as Governor Francis Nwifuru recently inspected ongoing water supply projects and key infrastructure developments.

During an unscheduled visit, the governor evaluated the progress of the city’s water project and the Vanco Roundabout twin flyover and tunnel construction. His visit reflects his administration’s commitment to ensuring essential services for residents.

At the low-lift water scheme near Ebonyi State University’s CAS campus, Governor Nwifuru expressed optimism about the project’s progress. He reassured residents that access to clean water would soon improve, emphasizing the government’s focus on essential infrastructure.

The governor also assessed the twin flyover at Vanco Roundabout, highlighting its role in easing traffic congestion and boosting the city’s appeal. The project is expected to enhance business activities and attract investment to Abakaliki.

Business owners in the area welcomed the developments, anticipating economic benefits once construction is completed. Meanwhile, Governor Nwifuru also met with Norwegian Ambassador Svein Bæra, who is in Ebonyi to observe the administration’s progress. A state banquet is planned in his honor.

With these projects moving forward, Abakaliki is set to witness improved infrastructure, better living conditions, and increased economic opportunities.
