The Amana autonomous community in Ezza South Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, has officially elected and installed High Chief Clement Nweke Nwoga as its new traditional ruler, putting an end to a decade-long leadership void.
The election took place on March 15, 2025, with Nwoga securing a landslide victory of 560 votes, while his opponent received just 3 votes. The process was overseen by Alphonsus Nwali, Chairman of the Ezza South Coronation Committee, alongside officials from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters and security agencies.
Following his election, community elders formally crowned Nwoga, ushering in a new era of leadership for Amana. Residents have welcomed this transition, expressing confidence that his rule will restore peace, unity, and drive local development.
For the past 10 years, Amana had operated without a traditional ruler, leading to governance challenges and disputes. With Nwoga’s ascension, expectations are high for stability and growth within the community.
