AE-FUNAI VC Issues Strong Warning Against Campus Misconduct

The Vice Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI), Prof. Sunday Elom, has cautioned students against engaging in unethical behaviors such as sex-for-grades, cultism, examination malpractice, and campus prostitution.

Speaking at the 13th matriculation ceremony, Prof. Elom reaffirmed the institution’s zero-tolerance policy on academic dishonesty, indecent dressing, bullying, and other forms of misconduct. He urged students to familiarize themselves with the university’s guidelines as outlined in the student handbook.

He emphasized that AE-FUNAI prioritizes discipline, and any breach of regulations will attract strict consequences. Students were encouraged to embrace excellence, integrity, and respect as core values that define the university’s learning environment.

For the 2024/2025 academic session, AE-FUNAI admitted 5,357 new students, with 3,107 females and 2,250 males meeting the admission criteria. Prof. Elom assured them of a transformative learning experience, blending academic excellence with practical and entrepreneurial skills.

He also urged students to respect the host community’s culture and actively participate in university-organized outreach programs. He highlighted AE-FUNAI’s commitment to fostering a peaceful and development-focused environment.

With a strong emphasis on academic distinction and ethical leadership, AE-FUNAI remains one of Nigeria’s top institutions for higher learning, equipping students for success in a knowledge-driven world.
