Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State celebrated his 50th birthday by dedicating a multi-million naira church building he sponsored in his hometown, Agbaja, Izzi Local Government Area. The project, comprising a church hall and a two-story parsonage, was built for Emmanuel Parish of the Catholic Church.
The dedication, held on Tuesday, was officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Most Reverend Peter Chukwu. Nwifuru stated the project was a gesture of gratitude to God for his achievements, which he never anticipated.
“I’m not celebrating my birthday; I’m dedicating this church to thank God for everything He has done in my life,” he said.
Nwifuru also praised his predecessor, Senator David Umahi, for supporting the church and assured his administration would build on these legacies.
During the service, he prayed the church would become a center of faith, love, and hope, transforming lives and spreading the gospel.
The event was attended by prominent politicians, traditional rulers, and the governor’s family.
