A tragic auto accident has claimed the life of Eze Ifeanyichukwu, the Personal Assistant to Hon. Chinedu Onah, Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
The unfortunate incident occurred on January 11, 2025, along the Enugu/Abakaliki Expressway. Eze was returning from a Christian wake held in solidarity with a friend whose mother’s burial was scheduled for the same day. He was accompanied by three other legislative aides and a member of the Grace Speaks Political Family, all of whom sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
Confirming the incident, Nwede Martin Chinonso, Secretary of the Deputy Speaker’s Legislative Aides Forum, expressed deep grief over the loss, describing Eze as a loyal, hardworking, and dedicated aide to the Deputy Speaker.
Eze’s contributions were highly regarded, both as a Personal Assistant to the Deputy Speaker and as the Coordinator of the FON Youth Movement in Umuogudu Oshia Ward. Known for his humility, generosity, and potential, his death has left a profound void in the hearts of many.
Eze, who lost his mother at a young age, was a beacon of hope to his father and his community. The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Chinedu Onah, who appointed him upon assuming office, spoke highly of Eze’s dedication and social impact.
The statement also conveyed sympathy to Eze’s family and called for prayers for the injured victims, while mourning the loss of a promising young man whose life ended abruptly.
