Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning in Ebonyi State when a middle-aged pregnant housewife allegedly pushed her husband to his death from a two-story building.
The victim, identified as Mr. Nwoga Maduabuchi from Akparata village, Igbeagu community in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was reportedly married to the suspect, his second wife, hailing from Uburu community in the Ohaozara Local Government Area, residing in Abakaliki, the state capital.
According to a security officer who spoke anonymously, the incident unfolded during an argument between the victim and his second wife over a family matter.
“The man is simply a victim of domestic violence,” the source stated. “He had two wives. The first wife is from Izzi Local Government Area, while the second wife is from Uburu in the Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state. It’s a family matter, but the second wife became so enraged over the issue and resorted to pushing her husband off the two-story building. That’s the extent of her actions, the height of wickedness.”
Another reliable source, speaking under anonymity, disclosed that the suspect was heavily pregnant and had been frequently quarreling with her late husband, noting, “The second wife was constantly nagging.”
Ogo Mike, a community source, expressed dismay, noting that the victim was an elder brother to his friend.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of Ebonyi State Police Command, DSP Ukandu Joshua, stated he was yet to receive information about the incident from the Divisional Police Officer, expressing ignorance about the location of the incident in Abakaliki to verify the details.
