The Ebonyi Police Command has established a Complaint Response Unit (CRU) in the state, following the policy of Inspector General of Police (I-G) Kayode Egbetokun. The Command’s Spokesman, DSP Joshua Ukandu, announced this in a statement issued in Abakaliki on Friday.
Ukandu clarified that the CRU is an existing unit in the Nigeria Police Force but has now been devolved to state commands to enhance accountability, transparency, and prompt response to public complaints against officers.
The unit will serve as a central point for receiving and resolving complaints from the public against police personnel in the command. Ukandu emphasized that the establishment of the CRU demonstrates the Command’s dedication to professionalism and ethical conduct under the leadership of CP Augustina Ogbodo.
“We urge members of the public to approach the CRU to report any issues or grievances they may have against police officers serving in the command. By working together, we can ensure a better and more accountable police force for all,” Ukandu stated.
For inquiries or to file a complaint, the public can contact the Ebonyi state police command CRU desk officer at 08067577537 or the PPRO at 08032716251.
