The National Association of Ebonyi State Students (NAESS) has launched a career counseling initiative aimed at guiding secondary school students across the state’s three senatorial zones.
The sensitization program, officially flagged off in Abakaliki, aligns with Governor Francis Nwifuru’s People’s Charter of Needs agenda, emphasizing career choices that promote self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
During the event, key government officials, including the Special Advisers on Student Affairs and Student Mobilization, highlighted the importance of career counseling in shaping students’ futures.
A guest lecture by former NANS Southeast and South-South Coordinator, Mr. Olisaemeka Nwuruku, urged students to select courses with strong employment prospects. He emphasized fields such as medicine, engineering, law, and computer science, which provide better opportunities for self-sufficiency.
Beyond career advice, NAESS representatives also educated students on personal development topics, including hygiene, parental support, and the dangers of cultism.
This initiative is set to equip Ebonyi students with essential knowledge for informed career decisions and long-term success.
