Ebonyi youths were called to action during a summit held in Abakaliki, themed “Purposeful Leadership Among Youths.” Chinedu Emenike, the National President of the Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Youth Movement (FON) and Special Assistant to Governor Nwifuru on Youth Mobilization, emphasized the importance of fostering leadership skills to drive national development.
The event brought together young leaders from all 13 Local Government Areas of the state, providing a platform to exchange ideas and chart a course for effective leadership. Emenike praised the turnout and urged youths to embrace their roles as key players in nation-building.
Highlighting the significant progress in youth representation under Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration, Emenike commended ongoing empowerment initiatives and called on young people to seize the opportunities available to them.
“The future of Ebonyi lies in the hands of its youth,” he stated, encouraging them to take proactive steps in community development, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship.
Over 90% of Local Government Chairpersons and Development Centre Coordinators in Ebonyi are youths, a testament to the state’s commitment to nurturing young leaders. Emenike described the summit as timely and thought-provoking, reminding attendees of their responsibilities in shaping the nation’s future.
