At an event in Amaopara, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Governor Francis Nwifuru highlighted the critical role of the solid minerals sector in reducing Nigeria’s reliance on oil. Represented by his brother, Fidelis Nwifuru, the governor spoke during the commissioning of community projects executed by Dolf Global Resources.
He underscored the need for Nigeria to harness the potential of its solid minerals industry, especially as the global energy landscape shifts toward renewables. He praised the mining firm for its community-driven initiatives, such as building houses for local residents, and lauded the peaceful atmosphere provided by the people of Amaopara, which encourages investment.
Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Chidi Onyia, credited the government’s proactive stance on mining for creating mutually beneficial outcomes for companies and host communities. Meanwhile, Dolf Global Resources CEO, Donald Nnadi, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fulfilling agreements with the community in line with the Mining Act.
This development highlights the importance of strengthening alternative sectors to foster sustainable growth in Nigeria.
